Tuesday 9/23/08

Jessica didn't feel well today and didn't get out of bed again today. My parents stayed with her, and my mom didn't want to leave her. Her throat hurts, her ear hurts, she just overall doesn't feel good, and she feels worn out. Her legs can barely hold her up, and when she did get up to fix her bed she started breathing heavy and said that was her exercise for the day.

My dad worked on Algebra with her today as much as she could. He's better at Algebra than Steve and I are, and has become her Algebra tutor this year since she's not getting much instruction in class. I'm still trying to get a homebound teacher, but haven't gotten a response from the school yet.

This is my experience, hoping sharing can help u: been ill with CFIDS for well over 20 years. Last year I finally came to the conclusion that CFIDS is not an illness it is only the symptom of another graver illness. Hypoadrenalism, Addison's disease etc.
Fluid in the middle ear: had this since 2002. Finally healed it by eating a lot of sea salt. I have hyponatremia, (possibly brain salt wasting syndrome). It's a disorder brought by hypoaldosteronism (low adrenal hormone Aldosterone) even if it was marginal low/normal in lab work. (This illness gives lots of false negatives!) Once I ingested enough sea salt my heart problems and fluid in middle ear cleared up but fluid in middle ear comes back when I wake up. It clears up once I ingest enough sea salt. After about 2 weeks of ingesting sea salt got severe nausea. So I looked into balancing the electrolytes. This helps for now. I take licorice for the hypo-cortisol and sea salt/electrolytes for the hypoaldosteronism. Hope this will help your daughter a little. Btw, the pain with IV often means it was too fast, an IV should last 3 hours so as not to hurt. Have you checked her for heavy metal poisoning? (24hr Urine test only, blood test will give false negative) Good luck to you and your daughter.

I meant the chills with an IV. I had an IV done that was way too rapid and my already naturally low BP plummeted to an all time low. I was shivering, I was freezing from the inside out. (And I am ALWAYS warm/hot). I learned that an IV has to last 3 hours so as not to give me chills by severely reducing the drip myself. Nurses weren't happy cause they can't get as many "customers" in there I am there 3 hours but tough luck!

I had a doctor who would always give me IVs that hurt and complain about my complaining. Some drs/nurses are just bad! Found a different one and still shopping...

OOps! I guess three's the charm. Yes, my BP is always low. But I meant to type my naturally low body temperature plummeted to an all-time low with the too-rapid IV. Hope this can help your daughter. Good luck 2 u and sorry for the 3 comments!
